Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Sitters / Toddlers / Cake smash shoot
When is the best time to do sitter sessions?
Sitter sessions can happen anytime between 7 months to 14 months of age.
The best time is after 8th month when the baby is able to sit without support for more time.
We also do toddler photoshoots and kids shoots. For toddlers, we can use the same setups.
What is cake smash photoshoot or a water splash photoshoot?
A cake smash setup has a cake placed in front of the child for him / her to play, enjoy and smash the cake.
In water splash session / bath session, the baby is placed inside the bathtub with water so that baby plays with water and we capture those beautiful moments. Please note, if you are planning for splash sessions, we have the normal room temperature water available at the studio. You can arrange the hot water if needed from your side.
When is the best time to do cake smash session?
Cake smash photo sessions can happen anytime between 10 months to 1.5 yrs of age.
The best time is when the baby completes 10th month and before 11th month completion.
At this age, most of the babies sit without support and will be more attentive to do more activities like cake smash / water splash etc.. And also they won’t be able to stand much or won’t walk so they can sit at the cake smash place and can enjoy the session.
We can do little later also but, it’s preferably the better time.
Preferred time for the baby photo shoot?
Please plan the shoot when the baby is in active time.
Usually when the baby wakes up from the sleep, he / she will be active for the next 2-3 hrs. This is when we should plan for the shoot.
How should we prepare the baby for cake smash session?
Please make sure the baby is active and playful. And when you planned for the cake smash session, please try to introduce the cake (small pieces / pastry) to the baby so that he / she will get used to the cake’s feel.
In our experience, the babies which are introduced the cake before hand enjoyed better during the cake smash session.
Very few babies may not like the texture and feel of the cake as the cream is present on the cake. So they may become cranky.
Do you provide the cake for the cake smash session?
No, we don’t provide the cake for the cake smash session. You need to arrange the cake. We also give few vendor options where you can order from them if you want.
Which type of cake we need to bring during the cake smash session?
- Please select the theme first and accordingly you can choose the cake color / style which is suitable to the theme.
- For example, if we are doing animal theme cake smash, you can choose the cake with the animal designs on it.
- It’s better if the cake base is round and has more height and less width. (You can see few examples from our gallery.)
- Ask the baker NOT to use the artificial colors.
- Cake weight: 1kg to 2kgs (Preferably 1.5 Kg’s)
Can we do newborn poses / wrapping at this age?
No, The best time for the perfect newborn shoot is when the baby is before 15 days of age.
How soon should we book the session?
We suggest to book your session as soon as possible as we take limited bookings to give you the best quality. We book before 4 months in advance. If you prefer on weekends, kindly book at least 1 month in advance or before.

Do you provide props?
Yes, we have huge collection of props. The props are included in the packages.
Do you provide outfit for baby?
Yes, we have huge collection of costumes and wraps in different colors. for baby.
The outfits for baby are included in the packages.
Do we need to bring anything?
Please bring the feeding essentials and diapers for the baby. You can also bring your own outfit for the baby, but we also have outfits available. Depending on the theme, we can decide on the day of the shoot which one works better and make suggestions accordingly.
Do you provide outfit for mom or dad?
We have different collection of gowns in our wardrobe for moms. You can get these at an additional price. These are not included in the package.
We don’t provide / we don’t have outfits to dads.
What should we wear?
We suggest you to select the backdrop / setup first and then accordingly you can choose the matching matching outfit for parents.
You can select the gowns from our wardrobe at an additional cost for baby sessions or you can also bring on your own.
You can get inspired from our catalogue also so you get some idea on what to wear.
Where will the session take place?
It depends on your choice. Indoor photo session takes place at our studio in HSR Layout – 27th Main. We have feeding room, dress changing room in the studio.
It can also be done at your home provided enough space is available. (The packages are different for Studio and Home shoots).
The outdoor can be done when you have a private outdoor space at your home. But we usually don’t recommend at this age due to the risk of mosquitoes / insects in outdoor places. When the baby starts to sit on their own (without support) i.e, usually after 7-8 months, we can do in outdoors.
Do you do home shoots?
Yes, we do
Can I include my first child / baby's sibling?
Yes, the sibling can be included in any one setup depending on the package you choose.
Usually, if you want to include the sibling, we do 1 baby + sibling setup and ofcourse, we will include the sibling also in the family session (portraits with parents)
What about hair & makeup for mom?
Hair styling and Makeup is not included in the packages.
But we can suggest the hair stylist & makeup artist once you confirm the shoot. You can contact them directly.
Baby doesn’t need any makeup.
Can I bring my own makeup hair artist?
We highly recommend that you come ready for our session. But If you want to do makeup in studio with your makeup artist, we can allow based on the time availability.
How long the session last?
It starts from 45 mins till 4+ hr’s depending on the package you choose. But we assure that enough time will be given for you during the shoot.

- Pay remaining 50% on or before the day of shoot.
What if I'm unable to come to photo session?
The session can be rescheduled only once in extreme cases. Kindly inform us at least a week – 10 days before the scheduled shoot date.
The advance amount is non refundable.
Kindly understand that we take bookings in advance and schedule the slots accordingly with different clients. If you cancel / postpone in the last minute, the slot will be wasted and we won’t be able to allot the slot to other client also.
But in any medical emergency cases, if you are unable to come to the session, we understand this scenario and the session can take place in later dates.
Incase, the shoot is cancelled by us for different reasons, we’ll refund the full deposit amount.
When will you deliver the photos?
It takes approximately 10 days to deliver the unprocessed (unedited) pictures.
The final edited pictures will be delivered approximately in 20 days.
We usually select the photos to be edited and will send you in 10 days. You can confirm us whether you want the same pics or if you want, you can change the selection also. Once you confirm this, this may take approx 10 days for the delivery of final pictures.
Do you provide all soft copies?
We believe in quality and not the quantity. The no of photos depends on the package you choose. We give good amount of unedited pics also with edited pics.
Our complete focus will be on the best unique editable pictures.
In our highest packages we provide all good raw pics (unedited JPG’s only).
Do you offer any printed products?
Yes, we offer albums and photo frames depending on the package you choose.
And you can purchase separately also at an extra cost. We’ll also share the pictures / videos of the products. You can choose which one you want and we can share the pricing with you.
Do you share the pics on social media?
Yes, We share few photographs from the sessions on our social media accounts, website, competitions, promotions etc.
As passionate artists, we try our best effort to produce the most beautiful photos for you that will last you a lifetime. Sharing our work with the world helps us get motivated to keep going and produce even more beautiful work. And it also helps our future clients how wonderful we are doing our work.
But, incase if you don’t want us to share your pics on social media for any particular reason, kindly let us know in advance and we won’t share.
What is a Setup / Theme?
A setup or a theme is usually a combination of backdrop, few props / flowers and an outfit.
You can choose the setups from the link provided to you when you contacted. You can also see from the above gallery.
Can you accommodate the setups which are not in your portfolio?
We have huge collection of portfolio with different props, outfits.
If you have any unique ideas, you can share with us or you can share the sample pics. If the similar props / backdrops are available, we can try. If you expect exactly same as in the pic you share, we may not be able to do that. But definitely we’ll try to do something similar.
Still we strongly suggest to choose from our portfolio and if you want any little changes in our setups, we are more than happy to do that.
What is the image resolution you share?
For unedited pics, it’s approximately 3000 X 2000 pixels with 300 DPI
For the final edited pics, it’s approximately 6000 X 4000 pixels or higher with 300 DPI which can be useful for large prints also.
Do you offer any discounts?
We truly believe in creating the best artwork for you with the normal price. We usually don’t offer any extra discounts. Sometimes, we may have some offers. Kindly contact us to know more.
